Qatar Olympic Committee strengthens sporting ties with other NOCs
The Qatar Olympic Committee has strengthened sporting ties with a number of countries with QOC President HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani meeting his counterparts from Spain, Laos and the Maldives this past week.
Sheikh Joaan met his Spanish counterpart HE Alejandro Blanco last Friday, May 12, during which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two National Olympic Committees.
Sheikh Joaan and Mr. Blanco renewed a long-term collaboration with an official ceremony to mark their commitment to promoting deeper bilateral relations, cooperation and understanding. An MoU between the Spanish and Qatar NOCs has been in place since 2011.
Then on Sunday, May 14, Sheikh Joaan met Phout Simmalavong, President of the Laos NOC, and Mohamed Abdul Sattar, President of the Maldives NOC, on separate occasions.
During the two meetings, all facets of sporting cooperation between Qatar and Lao PDR and the Maldives were reviewed, and on ways Qatar could support sport in both countries.
