Janez Kocijančič posthumously awarded EOC Order of Merit

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) today posthumously awarded its former President and former ANOC Vice President, Janez Kocijančič, with an EOC Order of Merit award following his passing on 1 June 2020.

The award was presented to Mr Kocijančič’s wife and daughter in the presence of IOC President Thomas Bach, EOC Acting President Niels Nygaard and EOC Executive Committee Member and Croatian NOC President Zlatko Matesa.

The awarding took place on the occasion of the EOC Executive Committee meeting which met for the first time in person since the start of the pandemic. The meeting was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia to pay tribute to EOC departed President Janez Kocijancic.
