IOC Athletes’ Commission election – Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, Paris 2024
The International Olympic Committee is officially launching the procedure for the IOC Athletes’ Commission election to be held during the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad Paris 2024.
The several athlete-focused recommendations of Olympic Agenda 2020+5 reaffirmed the IOC’s commitment to placing athletes at the heart of the Olympic Movement and strengthening its support to clean athletes on and off the field of play.
The IOC Athletes’ Commission has an important and unique role to play in this regard by representing the athletes’ voice and empowering the network of athlete representatives, in addition to leading the support provided to athletes through the IOC and Athlete365.
As is the case for each Games of the Olympiad, at Paris 2024, four athletes from four different sports will be elected by their peers. These four athletes will also be put forward for election as IOC Members by the IOC Session (for a term of eight years).
Outgoing members
Current IOC AC member Nadin Dawani (JOR), Britta Heidemann (GER), Daniel Gyurta (HUN), Yelena Isinbaeva (RUS), Aya Mahmoud Medany (EGY), Seungmin Ryu (KOR) and Sarah Walker (NZL) will be finishing their term of office in August 2024.
