ANOC mourns loss of former BOA President Judy Simons
ANOC is deeply saddened to learn that former Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) President and ANOC Commission member Judy Simons passed away at the age of 71.
Simons served the Olympic Movement for more than 25 years, contributing to the development of sport in Bermuda and beyond. As well as serving as BOA President she previously held the position of Secretary General. She also served on a number of Commissions including the ANOC Modernisation Commission and ANOC Events Working Group and the IOC’s Olympic Education Commission, as well as positions in PanAm Sports and CANOC.
Simons was the Regional Vice President (Americas) of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) up until her passing and served on the Executive Committee of the Centro Caribe Sports until she announced her retirement last year and was recognised for her significant contribution to the organisation.
Simons was a valued and highly respected member of the NOC family and will be deeply missed. ANOC’s sincerest sympathies are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
