Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee publishes ‘Olympic Stories and Emotions’ book to commemorate 30th anniversary
The Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (SOŠV) in cooperation with Briland, s.r.o., published the official book, Olympic Stories and Emotions, to mark the 30th anniversary of the NOC’s establishment.
The book presents the key moments in the history of Slovak Olympic performances since the country’s first appearance at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer and, above all, the stories of all 42 Olympic medals won.
A total of 56 athletes have won the medals, whose brief profiles can also be found in the book. As well as basic facts about the fifteen Olympic participations of Slovak expeditions to date – eight at the Winter Olympic Games and seven at the Olympic Games.
The book of 104 pages in A4 format, which was generously edited graphically by Peter Buček, was compiled and written by the director of the media department of SOŠV Ľubomír Souček. The book is decorated with beautiful dynamic and emotional photographs, which come primarily from the work of the co-author of the book, the renowned sports photojournalist Ján Súkupa . Both authors have participated fifteen times in the Olympic Games, either summer or winter.
The book also uses photos of other photojournalists from Súkup’s Štartfoto agency ( Peter Pospíšil, Jakub Súkup and Ladislav Perényi ), as well as Andrej Galica from SOŠV, as well as TASR photojournalists ( Jaroslav Novák, Martin Baumann, Pavel Neubauer, Radovan Stoklasa and Michal Svítok ).
