NOC Malta hosts Strength & Conditioning Talk on Power Development

Following last year’s successful hosting of the ASCA recognised Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Course, the Maltese Olympic Committee hosted Professor Nicola Silvaggi, a leading expert in the field, for an interesting talk on power development.

Prof. Nicola Silvaggi was the technical director of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) from 2005 until 2008. Following this experience, he returned to Ascoli Piceno where he continues his field work with a view to creating a national excellence centre focusing on throws and jumps. During his career he has worked with several top level athletes.

The Talk was held exclusively held for ASCA Level 1 participants and the hosting of Prof Silvaggi is part of the Maltese Olympic Committee’s commitment to providing valuable educational opportunities for our athletes and coaches. We believe that knowledge is power, and by investing in learning and development, we are paving the way for future success in the world of sports.

The Maltese Olympic Committee, extends its heartfelt gratitude to our partners at IPES, University of Malta, for their unwavering support in making this event possible. Together, we are building a stronger and more knowledgeable sports community.

MOC Director and Technical Commission Member Nigel McCarthy commented that more educational activities are being planned by the Maltese Olympic Committee in the near future.
