NOC Estonia unveils competition apparel for Estonian athletes to wear at Tokyo 2020
Estonian Olympic Committee unveiled the official Nike apparel for the Estonian Olympic team to compete at the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Urmas Sõõrumaa, the president of the Estonian Olympic Committee, noted at the presentation that the NOC highly appreciates cooperation with Nike, which began back in 2007. “Nike is well known not only by its innovative solutions but also by the nice attitude and kindness of its employees. I am happy that there are such responsive and talented people among us, whose efforts resulted in producing this great collection,” said Sõõrumaa.
Backed by decades of scientific work, Nike creates apparel that facilitates performance, is tailor-suited for athletes and disciplines, and allows to fully concentrate on competitions and performance, eliminating any distractions.
“Before the Olympic Games, something new and innovative is always born. Tokyo 2020 is no exception. Our top athletes know well that Nike always uses the latest technology in their competition apparel to offer uniforms that perform great. During the Tokyo Games the weather will be quite hot, and thus the new clothes breathe better and have increased lightness and elasticity to make it easier for athletes to move. The visual component is also important – an interesting striped pattern adds dynamism to the athlete’s movements,” commented Rainer Tops, a member of the management board of AS Jalajälg that represents Nike in Estonia.
According to hurdler Rasmus Mägi, he was eager to see the new collection: “It is really nice! There are some beautiful colors and, I am sure, the apparel is extremely comfortable!”.
