NOC Azerbaijan and P&G sign memorandum of partnership

Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee signed a memorandum of partnership with Procter&Gamble.

The event was attended by Azerbaijan NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada, NOC Secretary General Azer Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Mariana Vasileva, General Manager at P&G Central Asia and Caucasus Markets Irakli Gabriadze, National Paralympic Committee President Hidayat Abdullayev, Olympic champions, representatives of national federations and media.

NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada described such partnership as favourable for development of sport in the country and said: “At present, Azerbaijan has become one of the centres of world sports with its Olympic accomplishments and international competitions hosted in the country. The visits of the IOC President Thomas Bach and the EOC President Spyros Capralos to our country, the holding of a numerous significant events is an obvious proof of this. The role of our partners is also essential in our continuous development and success. The involvement of P&G, a global partner of the International Olympic Committee, to our list of proud partners is significant initiation. We will step together with the P&G at Paris 2024 Olympic Games, we will succeed together.”

Speaking at the event, General Manager at P&G Central Asia and Caucasus Markets Irakli Gabriadze mentioned that P&G was an official partner of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee at the London Olympic Games in 2012. The signed agreement contributed to the promotion of sport among children and youth and supported athletes participated in the Olympic Games.

“This year P&G is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its activity in Azerbaijan. We are proud to have the opportunity to support the national team at the Olympic Games. According to this agreement, which is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of its activity in Azerbaijan, the company will allocate 12 special scholarships to Olympians representing various sports disciplines and qualified for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics” said Irakli Gabriadze.

Then the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of partnership with the P&G, the international partner of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The memorandum was signed by General Manager at P&G Central Asia and Caucasus Markets Irakli Gabriadze and Chingiz Huseynzada, NOC Vice-President.

Within the framework of the memorandum, P&G will fulfil certain obligations to ensure the participation of athletes representing Azerbaijan in the Olympic Games. The Azerbaijan NOC and P&G will jointly implement an integrated marketing strategy, and 12 Olympians will also receive from P&G a one-time scholarship.
