Mexico Olympic Committee holds technical meeting with Presidents of National Sports Federations

The President of the Mexican Olympic Committee (COM), María José Alcalá, held a technical meeting with the presidents of National Sports Federations and the General Director of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports, Ana Gabriela Guevara to discuss Olympic sport.

With this technical meeting, the path of the Olympic cycle was discussed that includes the I Central American and Caribbean Games of Sea and Beach, Santa Marta 2022, the XXV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games, the XIX Pan American Games of Santiago 2023 and the celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“I celebrate that today we start the Olympic cycle, and I celebrate that the presidents of the National Sports Federations and of course Ana Guevara are here, because with the joint work we can achieve great goals and strengthen this path in favor of those who are our reason for being: the athletes” expressed Alcalá Izguerra in this plenary meeting at the Mexican Olympic Sports Center (CDOM).

In her speech at the event, María José Alcalá highlighted the great communication that exists with the National Sports Federations and the importance of establishing a schedule of work meetings starting on September 20 to plan the preparation of the Mexican teams that will to compete in the upcoming regional fairs.

Both sports leaders established to stay in constant communication to agree on work schemes that walk the same route; and also incorporate the technical teams of both institutions in these work meetings of the federations in order to ensure better sports results.

“This is the beginning of the efforts and closing ranks. The Mexican Olympic Committee will always be a collaborating entity” pointed out Alcalá Izguerra.

The head of CONADE, Ana Gabriela Guevara, commented that the planning carried out for the 2023 fairs will be crucial and that the institution she represents has all the will to work together.
