Malaysian Olympic Committee celebrates National Sports Day 2022

The Malaysian Olympic Committee (OCM) joined the National Sports Day celebrations on 8 October.  The National Sports Day (Hari Sukan Negara) 2022 was launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.A.B. Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at Putrajaya. He had also launched the National Sports Vision (Visi Sukan Negara) 2030 initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia.

The OCM was officially represented by its Vice President, Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt, who was accompanied by the two (2) General Managers of OCM, namely Mr. Fong Wan Hor and Mr. Norhashimi Hussain.
“The National Sports Day which is celebrated on the second Saturday of October every year was first introduced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2015, aiming to inculcate sporting culture and making Malaysia a sporting nation”;

“The concept of the National Sports Day is indeed inline with the Olympic Movement advocated by the OCM”;

“On behalf of OCM and our President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, I would like to thank the Ministry of Youth and Sports for involving the OCM in the National Sports Day celebration” stated Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt
