Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee hosts flag raising ceremony to mark one year to go to Tokyo 2020

The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) today hosted a flag raising ceremony of the Olympic, Fiji and Japan flags to mark one year to go to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

ONOC President Dr Robin Mitchell and First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Fiji, Mr Noriaki Sadamoto officiated in the FASANOC Flag Raising Ceremony alongside FASANOC President, Mrs Makarita Lenoa to mark the “One-Year-To-Go” to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Republic of Fiji Navy assisted with the Flag Raising and brought the whole event together.

The flags were raised in the presence of local media as well as leaders and staff of FASANOC and ONOC – at Fiji Olympic House in Suva.

Team Fiji also hosted to a 1 Year To Go roundtable event at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji. Messages of hope, unity and solidarity were shared and it was agreed we are Stronger Together.
FASANOC and Team Fiji thanks the Embassy of Japan, ONOC, Team Fiji in particular the athletes who have qualified and those who are still trying to.
