Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and International Olympic Academy Signed Memorandum of Understanding
Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and International Olympic Academy have announced a new cooperation agreement with the shared aim of promoting the development of Olympic Education.
The historic moment was marked by the signing of the document by Mr. Hong-Dow LIN, President of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC), and Mr. Isidoros KOUVELOS, President of International Olympic Academy, at the premises of the IOA located near birthplace of the Olympic Games in ancient Olympia.
The profound historical significance of this village adds a unique element to the collaborative efforts.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalizes the longstanding relationship between the two organizations and serves as a catalyst for future endeavors in the realm of Olympic Education.
The CTOC takes great pride in its rich legacy and significant contribution to the Olympic Movement. The establishment of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Academy (CTOA) in 1978 stands as a testament to their complete dedication. It has paved the way for a diverse range of educational events that have effectively spread the principles of Olympism across generations. These activities include the National Olympic Academy Session, International Sports Affairs Training Course, and Olympic Education Outreach Program, among others.
In recognition of CTOC’s unwavering commitment, the organization was honored with the prestigious prize “ATHENA” by the IOA in 2019. This esteemed accolade has provided immense encouragement for CTOC to persist in their educational pursuits.
“With a strong foundation built on 45 years of experience, I am confident that this MOU will bring our vision to fruition,” said Mr. Hong-Dow LIN, President of CTOC. “In close alignment with IOA, it will also bolster the role of Olympism in modern society in this island and chart the course towards a brighter future.”
