Chilean Olympic Committee’s Women in Sports Commission successfully host second workshop

The Chilean Olympic Committee’s (COCH’s) Women in Sports Commission held its second workshop on 21 October with delegates from 22 National Federations attending.

The workshop was focused on the participation of women in sports in areas such as leadership, management and recruitment. The Commission also reviewed the progress that has been made since its initial meeting in May and highlighted areas that need further development.

The Pan American Games, which will be held next year in Santiago, Chile, were identified as a key event to display the federations’ activities connected to women in sport.

The Chair of the Commission, Patricia López, participated in the session alongside COCH Directors Leslie Cooper and Luis Alberto Santa Cruz, Treasurer Rodrigo Moreno and General Manager Loreto Santa Cruz.

“For the Olympic Committee, it is very important to have this type of activity, because it allows us to learn about the different problems that women in sport have, both as leaders, professionals or athletes. Our goal is to draw different conclusions and move forward with concrete solutions in the short term,” said López.
