Cape Verde Olympic Committee signs MoU with Basketball and Surfing Federations for implementation of Technical Coaching Course

The Cape Verde Olympic Committee (COC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the country’s basketball and surfing National Federations with the objective of increasing the participation of women and promoting gender equality in sport.

Within the scope of the Olympic Solidarity Technical Coaching Course (TCC), the COC programme will offer short-term training opportunities at different levels for coaches who are officially recognised by the COC from the basketball and surfing federations. Olympic Solidarity is working with NOCs to actively support the participation of women in the training courses, with women to account for a minimum of 30 per cent of the participants.

The TCC basketball course will be held in Barlavento from 31 October to 5 November and in Sotavento with the date to be confirmed. The surfing course will be held in São Vicente from 7 to 18 November, with training predominantly featuring female coaches.
