Cape Verde NOC promotes awareness walk against breast cancer

As part of the World Day of the fight against breast cancer, the staff of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee held an awareness-raising walk on the prevention of this disease, on the route Serra da Malagueta – Ribeira de Principal, a mountainous area of the island of Santiago.

On the way they met several people who live in this isolated area and in partnership with the Ministry of Health, they distributed pamphlets about the touch examination, essential for the detection of cancer.

The march also served as a team building event, in order to promote the cohesion of the team, since it is a very difficult route to access and requires teamwork to achieve.
