Australian Olympic Committee expands “Olympics Unleashed” school programme

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has expanded its community outreach programme “Olympics Unleashed” – which sends Olympians into schools to teach them Olympic values.

The programme was already running in schools throughout the state of Queensland in 2018 but has now been expanded to include schools in New South Wales. More than 100 Olympians will be equipped with the skills needed to effectively communicate their stories to teenage children. The purpose of the programme is to inspire young people to fulfil their full potential in or out of sport and provide them with lessons in working hard and overcoming setbacks.

The AOC hopes to reach more than 85,000 students through the programme ahead of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
