ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 1 year to go campaign engages NOCs, fans and IFs around the world

NOCs, fans and IFs joined together in celebrating the one year countdown to the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 last week.

More than 5,000 joined the Instagram live hosted by American beach handball player Ebiye Jeremy Udo-Udoma, Italian beach tennis champion Giulia Gasparri and Indonesian Beach karaketa Ahmad Zigi Zaresta Yuda as they discussed the Games and beach sports.

NOCs across the globe shared the One Year to Go campaign layouts on their digital channels, engaging their communities in the excitement of the Games, as well as the IFs of the program, who joined the one year to go campaign proposed by ANOC.

While the IFs on the Bali 2023 programme celebrated their inclusion in the Games and the opportunities it will provide their athletes and fans. ANOC and NOC Indonesia announced the full programme ahead of the one year to go countdown and revealed that 3×3 basketball, AirBadminton, Rowing Beach Sprint, and Surfing (longboard and shortboard) were the latest additions to the programme.

Speaking following the announcement, BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer said:

“We have been working on an outdoor badminton concept for many years now and the acceptance of the competitive version of AirBadminton at the ANOC World Beach Games is a signal that the sport is here to stay. The  ANOCWorld Beach Games is a unique opportunity to showcase AirBadminton as a dynamic game that is accessible to all. AirBadminton on sand delivers an exciting, skilful, intense level of play, and with such a proud history of badminton in Indonesia, we expect our very first ANOC World Beach Games appearance in Bali to be a thrilling one.”

FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis said:

“We’re delighted to see our Olympic discipline of 3×3 basketball continue to be featured at a sustainable and vibrant event like the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023.”
