ANOC Unveils Impact Report for Its 27th General Assembly in Cascais

The 27th ANOC General Assembly, held in Cascais, Portugal generated significant economic media and social impact according to a report by Quantum.

The global gathering brought together over 1,000 participants from 195 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Federations, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and other stakeholders from the Olympic Movement.

Significant Economic and Tourism Impact

According to the report, which can be found here, the event generated a direct economic impact estimated at €2.47 million. More than 4,500 overnight stays were generated in the Cascais and Lisbon region. The event also attracted participants from around the world, with 82% of delegates coming from abroad, further strengthening Cascais as an international destination for major events.

Exceptional Media Outcomes

The report highlights that the event benefited from global media coverage, with 42 hours of broadcast across various platforms. The total reach reached 103 million people, generating a media value estimated at €5.6 million. ANOC’s social media accounts also saw great success, reaching 411,000 people and gaining 1,274 new followers.

Positive Delegate Experience

The event received favorable feedback from participants, with an overall satisfaction score of 8.2 out of 10. The thematic sessions were particularly well-received, with 81% of delegates rating them as “good” or “excellent.” Constructive feedback was also gathered to improve the organization of future General Assemblies.
