ANOC successfully hosts 4th Sustainability Workshop: how to track and report activities
ANOC has hosted the fourth Sustainability Workshop in partnership with The Toolbox on 15th February. The focus of the meeting this time was how to track and report activities, which is presented on step 7 of the Sustainability Handbook offered by both organizations.
After presentation of the concepts and discussions between the participating NOCs, the Director of Marketing and Sustainability of NOC Spain, Manuel Parga, presented the case study about tracking their emissions. The Spanish NOC was one of the pioneers in neutralizing emissions, starting their sustainability policy in 2017 and being the first NOC to sign Sport For Climate Action framework in 2019. In a practical exercise during the workshop, participants were asked to calculate the emissions of flight from Geneva to Seoul so that they could replicate the learnings more easily in their daily routines.
The successful series of webinars have started in November and are a result of the partnership between ANOC and The Toolbox aiming to support NOCs create and implement their own sustainability programs. The recording of all events can be watched in English, French and Spanish at ANOC´s YouTube channel. The slides of the presentations, as well as the handbooks in the three languages can be downloaded at ANOC sustainability website: https://www.anocolympic.org/sustainability/
The next and last workshop will take place on the 15th March.
