ANOC Strengthens Collaboration with Centro Caribe Sports to Support Caribbean and Central American NOCs
On January 29th, ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg met with the President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía Oviedo, and Juan Guerra, Digital Media Specialist of Centro Caribe Sports.
The discussions focused on the importance of developing a effective digital communication strategy for National Olympic Committees (NOCs). During the meeting, an Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ANOC and Centro Caribe Sports for the development of joint projects to support to the 37 NOCs of the region aligned with the ANOC Digital Accelerator Program.
This initiative will also aim to support the preparation of the 100th Central American and Caribbean Games, which will take place in 2026 in Santo Domingo. A series of webinars and workshops focussed on the NOCs from Central America and the Caribbean will be discussed. These initiatives will aim to enhancing the digital capabilities of the NOCs while preparing for these historic Games. Additionally, a dedicated section will be created on ANOC.tv, which will also broadcast the competitions live.
President Luis Mejía Oviedo emphasized: “The partnership between Centro Caribe Sports and ANOC is crucial for strengthening communication and addressing new challenges. It will play a key role in preserving the historical legacy of Central American and Caribbean sports. By leveraging ANOC’s expertise and exchanging content, we will enhance the visibility of our National Olympic Committees. Together with ANOC, we are set to deliver an outstanding program for our centenary.”
