ANOC mourns loss of ANOC Executive Council Member Andrzej Krasnicki

It is with great sadness that ANOC has learned that ANOC Executive Council member and former Polish NOC President Andrzej Krasnicki has passed away at the age of 75.

Krasnicki was an influential figure in Polish sport and NOC President from 2010-2023, where he oversaw the successful hosting of the European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 and sat as an Ex-Officio member of the EOC Executive Committee.

In addition to his role on the ANOC Executive Council, which he held from 2018, Krasnicki represented ANOC on the WADA Foundation Board.

At the 141st IOC Session in Mumbai in 2023, he was awarded the Olympic Order for his outstanding contribution to the Olympic Movement, while the EOC also bestowed their Order of Merit Award on him in the same year following the 2023 European Games.

Our thoughts are with Krasnicki’s family and friends at this sad time.
