ANOC hosts Social Media Webinar 11 focused on social media video content at Paris 2024

ANOC today held its Social Media Webinar 11, under the ANOC Digital Accelerator Programme, focused on the use of videos on social media during Paris 2024.

Ross Hobart and Olivia Peace from Team GB and Francesco Mazzoldi from NOC Italy, all presented their strategy for planning and producing videos for their channels when all attention turns to Olympic content.

Team GB started their presentation explaining how they will structure their channels for Games time in France, with three different recording sites being Pre-Games Training Camps, Hospitality house and also the High Performance Centre in Paris. It was explained how each platform will have different curated content, and how it is expected that TikTok will be the most popular social media channel. The crew at the NOC is constantly developing their strategy, working around the restrictions in place to generate appealing content for their fans. It was highlighted the importance of building the relationship with the athletes over 18 months before the Games to generate content for the event, and get positive feedback when planning content production. Team GB also showcased examples of the content they created during Gangwon 2024, where the TikTok generation were actively involved and leveraged their deeper understanding of social media.

Francesco presented the video strategy for Team Italy in Paris, with a deep focus on the activations around Casa Italia, the story behind their media house and the NOC Italy OTT platform that today, counts on 4.3MM unique users. It was presented how, with a small team of 4 people, the NOC can work with partners to produce unique content generating maximum traction on digital platforms.
