ANOC Headquarters hosts opening day of Third Module of OCEAN Project

ANOC welcomed the participants of the OCEAN Project to its headquarters, the house of the NOCs, as the 18 participating European NOCs began the third module of the course in Lausanne.

Jointly run by ANOC, the EOC EU Office, the IOC and the Öko-Institute, the OCEAN Project is a two-year programme aimed at helping NOCs improve their sustainability measures and equipping them with the necessary tools to do so.

After starting in January 2023, the third module of the training course began today at ANOC, before days two and three are held at Olympic House on Wednesday and Thursday.

Director of the EOC EU Office, Folker Hellmund, Head of the Olympic Values Unit, Olympic Solidarity, Nils Holmegaard, Olympic Solidarity and Andres Santi, Senior Manager, ANOC Events & Projects, welcomed the participants to Lausanne, while Chair of the EOC Sustainability & Active Society Commission Berit Kjøll gave a virtual presentation on the work that they do.

Discussions were centred on the progress each NOC has made over the past 14 months with each Climate Officer reflecting on their achievements, as well as the greatest barriers they have faced in implementing sustainability measures during the OCEAN Project.
