ANOC General Assembly Cascais 2024 website launched on one month to go
ANOC and the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP) today marked one month to go to the ANOC General Assembly Cascais 2024 with the launch of a dedicated event website for National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and all attendees.
The website which can be found here, provides all the latest information for the General Assembly to ensure delegates can get the most out of the event.
On 30-31 October, over 800 representatives from more than 200 NOCs, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Federations (IFs) and Olympic Games Organising Committees (OCOGs) will meet to collaborate, share ideas, and discuss the most pressing issues facing the Olympic Movement.
A full agenda will feature a number of key items, including reports on the work of ANOC’s Commissions and programmes, a presentation on ANOC’s plans for the future and reports from Paris 2024 and the upcoming OCOGs.
ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg said:
“We are looking forward to welcoming the world to Cascais next month. The ANOC General Assembly is unique in its scale and global representation within sport and provides an unparalleled platform for open and meaningful dialogue among NOCs and other Olympic stakeholders. As the Olympic Movement faces a transition in the coming months, the ANOC General Assembly is an important opportunity for the NOC and wider Olympic family to come together to engage, share ideas and discuss the way forward.”
COP Secretary General José Manuel Araujo added:
“Portugal is ready and very honored to welcome ANOC delegates in Cascais! In a special moment for Olympic Family we will provide the best conditions so that NOCs, IFs and all other participants can share ideas, best practices and have good discussions. The confidence from ANOC in NOC Portugal to organise this General Assembly is also a sign that we are, more than ever, involved in the Olympic Family. Looking forward to see you next month in Cascais!”
On the evening of the 30 October, the ANOC Awards 2024 will be held to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of athletes and NOCs at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ANOC.TV allowing global audiences to join the celebrations from wherever they are in the world.
Following the conclusion of the General Assembly, the Special Theme Sessions will return on 1 November providing an informal and more intimate opportunity for NOCs to exchange knowledge and best practice on critical subjects. Stay tuned for more information on these Sessions in the coming weeks.
Ahead of all of this, the ANOC Executive Council will meet in Cascais on 28 October.
