ANOC encourages NOCs to participate in Sustainability Workshop Webinars

ANOC, in collaboration with The Toolbox, will host a series of online sustainability workshops to help NOCs create effective sustainability programmes, with the first session set to take place on Wednesday 16 November.

In 2020, ANOC joined the UNFCCC’s Sports for Climate Action initiative, as part of its commitment to sustainability. The UN Climate Change initiative supports and guides sport organisations and the wider sport sector in achieving global climate change goals and contributing to the low-carbon societies outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement. Uniting behind a set of principles, signatory sports organisations have promised to become net-zero carbon emitters by 2040.

This practical online series features five workshops that aim to teach NOCs about sustainability and will explain how to create and implement a comprehensive sustainability programme in eight steps. The workshops will be based on the Sustainability Handbook from The Toolbox that was developed by the 11th Hour Racing Team. The five workshop dates are:

Workshop 1: The Toolbox Step 1 & Step 2 – Wednesday 16 November 2022
Workshop 2: The Toolbox Step 3 & Step 4 – Tuesday 6 December 2022
Workshop 3: The Toolbox Step 5 & Step 6 – Wednesday 11 January 2023
Workshop 4: The Toolbox Step 7 – Wednesday 15 February 2023
Workshop 5: The Toolbox Step 8 – Wednesday 15 March 2023

The Toolbox are a group of guides, tools and templates created by 11th Hour Racing Team for the purpose of establishing a sustainability programme within any organisation, regardless of the size or industry sector.

ANOC encourages all members of NOC leadership, sustainability, marketing and communications teams to take part and learn about how to make sustainability more accessible and realise net-zero carbon emission commitments.
