ANOC Celebrates International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2025

ANOC today joined NOCs in celebrating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) and the transformative power of sport as a catalyst for social inclusion, unity, and peace.

The 2025 theme of IDSDP is , “Leveling the Playing Field: Sport for Social Inclusion,” which aims to challenge stereotypes, promote equal opportunities, and enable inclusive sport for all.

Around the world, NOCs are celebrating ISDP through various activities and initiatives from community sports festivals, to educational activities and youth engagement programmes.

ANOC President Robin Mitchell said:
“At a time when the world continues to face conflict and division, sport remains a beacon for hope and unity. Sport has the power to bring communities together, break down barriers, and inspire positive change. On this important day, we celebrate the work of NOCs in using sport to create a fairer and more inclusive society, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to participate and thrive.”
