ANOC Athletes’ Commission meets in Jakarta
The ANOC Athletes’ Commission today met in Jakarta on the occasion of the 18th Asian Games.
The Commission was received by ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah who expressed his full support to the Commission and their activities and the further education of athletes.
Chaired by Barbara Kendall, the Commission discussed the ways it could develop the support it provided Continental Associations and NOCs in setting up their own Athletes’ Commissions. The Continental Association guidelines the Commission has prepared were reviewed and there was further discussion on the Continental Forums.
IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell and James Macleod, IOC Associate Director, Relations with the Olympic Movement, presented a report to the Commission from the IOC’s side.
