ANOC and NOC Indonesia sign Host City Contract for ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023
ANOC and the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) today signed the Host City Contract for the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 during the XXVI ANOC General Assembly.
The signing of the contract is another key milestone in the delivery of the Games which will take place next year on 5-15 August 2023. Technical delivery agreements are in place with the confirmed International Federations (IFs) on the exciting Games programme and a Technical Delegate meeting was held in Bali last month. ANOC has been working closely with NOC Indoneisa since the two organisations signed an MoU in July.
The landmark milestone for the Games coincided with the launch of the Games logo which reflects Indonesia’s beauty and rich culture. A traditional Balinese mask is at the heart of the logo which is made up of iconic Indonesian elements including Lempuyang temple, beach fauna, exotic flowers and the power of the sea.
ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg said:
“We are delighted to sign the Host City Contract with our Indonesian partners. We have enjoyed excellent collaboration for many months and preparations for the Games are already well underway. A total of 41 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have so far qualified for Bali 2023 and excitement is building among the athletes as they look ahead to what they may achieve next year.”
Raja Sapta Oktohari, President of NOC Indonesia said:
“With the full blessings of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and the people of Indonesia, we are confident that this edition will be the benchmark from which we will remember the World Beach Games for, the Dream Games, if I might be so bold as to say.
“Our aim is to deliver an extraordinary event that will leave a valuable legacy for not only the delegates from around the world, but the local people, the environment and the sporting world. A chance for us all to connect, engage and inspire a new generation and demographic within the sporting landscape and beyond.”
