Qatar NOC signs MOU with University of Doha for Science and Technology

The Qatar Olympic Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) to boost joint cooperation in sports and physical health.

QOC Secretary General HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain signed on behalf of the NOC while Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi, President of UDST, signed for the university.

The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two organisations across various domains, including training, leadership development and providing academic support to athletes.

QOC Secretary General Al Buenain emphasised the partnership underscores the unwavering commitment of both institutions to advancing integrated sports programmes.

He also said the MOU seeks to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity while advancing scientific research and specialised training to support athletes and enrich the broader community.

UDST President Dr. Salem said: “By merging sports with academic research, this initiative drives innovation, enhances athletic performance and promotes public health,” noting its critical role in realising Qatar’s vision of becoming a global leader in sports and education.
