Republic of Korea wins 10th consecutive gold in women’s archery

Republic of Korea’s women’s archery team equalled the Olympic record for most number of consecutive gold medals in any sport, as they beat China in a shootoff to win gold at Paris 2024.

The women’s team has now won 18 of the last 19 gold medals since Seoul 1988. Their record of 10 consecutive golds takes them equal to the USA men’s 4x100m medley relay team.

Speaking on the pressure of maintaing their record Sihyeon Lim said:

“We got so much support from Koreans and so much support, emotionally and physically, from the Korean federation. Thanks to the good environment and good support, we were able to prepare for the consecutive win.”

Mexico beat the Netherlands totake bronze.
