Nepal NOC begins Olympic Day 2024 celebrations in grand fashion

The Nepal Olympic Committee began Olympic Day 2024 celebrations on 8 June, with hundreds of schoolchildren and officials of the NOC participating in an opening ceremony.

The Nepal Olympic Committee has planned a 16-day celebration of Olympic Day, ending on 23 June, to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Movement – 23 June 1894.

NOC Vice President Jyoti Rana inaugurated the proceedings and she welcomed all participants at a colourful ceremony complete with a marching band and dancers.

Nepal became a member of the International Olympic Committee in 1963 and has been observing Olympic Day ever since.
