A press conference was held with the City of Cascais, Tourism Authority and the Portuguese Olympic Committee all in attendance to promote the event to local partners and reinforce the united team behind the preparations.
Speaking at the press conference for the event, Secretary General Lindberg said:
“We are so happy to be here and we thank the City Council and Portuguese Olympic Committee and its President for their support and warm welcome. ANOC has always enjoyed very good collaboration with Portugal. We have no doubt that Cascais will be a perfect host for next year’s General Assembly.
“We know that Cascais has lot of experience in hosting major events, as it hosts about 40 international events every year. It is of course highly experienced in hosting visitors who come for the beautiful beaches and marinas, amazing culture and delicious food. Cascais also has excellent hotels and facilities. We therefore have no doubt that our NOC delegates will not just have very good working conditions for productive meetings, but away from the meetings they will very much enjoy their stay here.”
