To introduce the knowledge about international sporting events management, the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee organized a workshop featured two enlightening lectures delivered by a distinguished expert from the Qatar Olympic Committee, Mr. Louis Louis, on 12th June, 2023, in Taipei City.

The first lecture, titled “Doha 2006 Legacy and Doha 2030 Strategy,” highlighted the experiences and strategies employed by the organizing committee of the Doha 2006 Asian Games as well as the legacies the games leaving to the hosting country and city. Participants also learned about the vision and bidding strategies for the Doha 2030, a future Asian Games to be held in Doha for a second time.

In his second lecture, “Developing an Evaluation Plan and Strategy for Bidding,” Mr. Louis shared his expertise and innovation, providing participants with actionable strategies and crucial considerations for developing a successful bid to host multi-sport games.

In addition to the lectures, the workshop included a general discussion session moderated by Mr. Alex CHOU, Professor from National Taiwan Sport University. The session served as a platform for the invited expert, officials from the Sport Administration, Ministry of Education, city governments, representatives from the NOC and national sport federations to engage in insightful conversations and exchange ideas, which implemented the purpose of the workshop to a greater extent.
