Bilateral Cooperation Agreements Between Palau and Chinese Taipei NOCs

The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) and Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) have reaffirmed their commitment to sports exchange and collaboration by signing Bilateral Cooperation Agreements. The signing ceremony was held on May 15th, 2023, with the presence of CTOC President, Mr. Hong-Dow LIN, and PNOC President, Mr. Frank KYOTA.

Building on a longstanding history of international cooperation, the CTOC has successfully inked sports exchange agreements with near 40 National Olympic Committees (NOC) across five continents since 1979. In 2017, Chinese Taipei and Palau National Olympic Committee signed their first cooperation agreement, and this year, the CTOC extended an invitation to the PNOC to renew and further strengthen their friendship.

The agreement encompasses a wide range of collaborative areas, including sports exchange, staff exchange, medical science, anti-doping initiatives, and the development of National Olympic Academies. By fostering these exchanges, both organizations aim to enhance their respective sporting programs, while promoting friendship and understanding between Chinese Taipei and Palau.

Ms. Baklai Temengil, Secretary General of the Palau Olympic Committee and also a member of the International Olympic Committee, will be a keynote lecturer at 2023 International Sports Affairs Training Course(ISATC) hosted by CTOC during this visit to Taiwan. With her extensive experience in international sports diplomacy and advocacy for gender equality and sustainable development, Ms. Temengil’s insights are anticipated to greatly enhance the program’s success.

The CTOC and PNOC are thrilled to embark on this new chapter of collaboration, which signifies shared commitment to sports excellence, cultural exchange, and the Olympic values.
