Cascais confirmed as host of 2024 ANOC General Assembly
The ANOC Executive Council today confirmed Cascais as the host of the 2024 ANOC General Assembly marking the first time Portugal will host the event.
The Portuguese Olympic Committee’s bid was presented to the Executive Council during its meeting in Madrid with Cascais unanimously approved. Portugal and the Cascais have a strong sporting heritage and offer accessible transport links for the world’s NOCs. As part of the ANOC General Assembly, Cascais will also host the ANOC Awards 2024 and accompanying ANOC events.
ANOC President Robin Mitchell said:
“We are very pleased to confirm Cascais as the host of next year’s ANOC General Assembly. ANOC enjoys very positive collaboration with the Portuguese Olympic Committee and we were impressed by the excellent proposal they submitted to host the event. We have no doubt they will organise a fantastic General Assembly and NOCs will be treated to a very productive and enjoyable stay in Cascais.”
Portuguese Olympic Committee President José Manuel Constantino added:
“We are honoured to be appointed by ANOC to host its General Assembly in Cascais, an event that has a great importance. We hope to have a very positive cooperation in the build up to the event, where the Olympci Movement will be able to consolidate its vision of a more sustainable future both in sports and for the society.”
The ANOC General Assembly is held annually and brings together the world’s NOCs along with representatives from the IOC, International Federations, Organising Committees and other Olympic stakeholders.
