Chilean Olympic Committee participates in Renca sports workshops
National athletics, handball and water polo teams from Team Chile engaged with boys and girls in the sports workshops of the Municipality of Renca, deepening the relationship of the Olympic Committee with the municipality.
The activity was also the space for the closing of the initiative “DUPU in your school”, whose objective is to publicize the values of Olympism through the mascot of Team Chile.
The highest authority of the commune, Claudio Castro, toured the different sports programs and said “We are very happy because with the COCH we have done a job that has been developed throughout 2022. At times, Renca students have traveled to their sports centers, have shared with athletes from Team Chile and teachers from the Renca municipal schools and all that is a tremendous motivation for a sports community”.
“We have seen different points of collaboration. We believe in sport as a tool for social transformation. We want to continue deepening this relationship with the Olympic Committee and we have discussed a couple of ideas that we are sure will work,” added the mayor.
Along the same lines, the president of the Chilean Olympic Committee, Miguel Ángel Mujica, celebrated the link generated. “For the Chilean Olympic Committee, it is very important to promote this type of connection with the community, so that we can transmit to children and young people the values of Olympism and the importance of playing sports. We thank the mayor Claudio Castro for the great disposition that Renca has had and I am sure that in the future there will be many activities that we will be able to carry out together”.
