Lithuanian National Olympic Committee to host LTeam Winter Festival 2023

The Lithuanian National Olympic Committee is preparing to host the 10th edition of the LTeam Winter Festival 2023 in Druskininkai on February 10-11. As in previous years, fans of active leisure will enjoy a wide range of free activities at the event, including the ever-popular running competition.

The “LTeam Winter Festival 2023” will involve both beginners and experienced runners, with everyone able to find the most suitable challenge for themselves – running competitions are planned in five different distances.

The running fiesta will start together with the opening of the entire event – on the evening of February 10, the winter festival will begin with a unique 3-kilometer night sprint.

“We will start at 8 p.m. in the center of Druskininkai, and the finish line will await at the top of the outdoor skiing track of the Snow Arena. This is a rare opportunity where participants will be able to experience what it is like to run up a mountain from which skiers descend. The sprint distance can be overcome by anyone, it is suitable for both beginners and those who are striving for a result”, says Vilius Aleliūnas, the organizer of the night sprint.

Part of the 3-kilometer course will be asphalt, with some gravel, and the last 500 meters uphill will be grass, which could be covered in snow if the weather conditions change, he said. The match will be even more engaging due to the dark time of day.
