Hellenic Olympic Committee renews agreement for promotion of Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024

The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC), in partnership with the Embassy of France in Greece, the French Institute of Greece and the National Olympic Academy (ETHNOA), will sign a renewal of its Cooperation Agreement for the promotion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Greek Olympic cultural heritage and French language on 3 November 2022.

The programme was established with the signing of the previous Cooperation Agreement, which took place in December 2018, and aims to promote the values ​​of Olympism, the spirit of mutual aid, the tolerance of integration and the French language.

The signing of the new agreement will ensure the continuation of “The generation of 2004 in Greece on the way to the Olympic Games of Paris 2024” project.

The partnership between the organisations will also aim to encourage specialised dialogue between Greek and French Olympism experts and the development of European volunteerism, aligned with the Olympic spirit shaped by Demitrios Vikelas and Pierre de Coubertin.

The areas of cooperation defined by the renewed Cooperation Agreement include, but are not limited to, the exchange of expertise for the implementation of joint projects, actions and events to promote the values of the Olympic Movement and the French language and the mobilisation of specific bodies and associations of each party for the benefit of the actions jointly implemented

Examples of the actions that will be implemented as part of the Cooperation Agreement include, but are not limited to, the organisation of the Olympic and Paralympic week, the translation of the publication of the Hellenic Olympic Academy aimed at young audiences entitled “Five Circles, One World – Olympic Games and Values”, in French and in digital format and the exhibition of “Terres de jeux”, which is a label for local authorities or sporting movement organisations that wish to be part of the Paris 2024 Games.
