United Arab Emirates Olympic Committee signs MoU with Uzbekistan Olympic Committee aimed at building sporting bridges

The United Arab Emirates Olympic Committee (UAE NOC) this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan (UOC) aimed at building bridges of cooperation between the two organisations, exchanging experiences and enhancing capabilities.

The NOCs were represented by the Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the UAE NOC, Her Excellency Eng. Azza Bint Sulaiman, while the Secretary General of the UOC, Obek Kasimov, also signed the MoU.

The agreement stemmed from the desire of both parties to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and mutual understanding between sports institutions in both countries, and to support programmes aimed at discovering young talent.

Her Excellency Eng. Azza Bint Sulaiman noted that the MoU originates from the vision of the Chairman of the UAE NOC, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. She also identified the need to draw from the sports sector experiences in the UAE and Uzbekistan to ensure the agreement has a positive impact on both parties.

Secretary General Kasimov also expressed his satisfaction at the creation of this new partnership, which represents a starting point for further cooperation and integration that would serve to benefit athletes in both countries.
