Oman NOC organises “open sports day” in conjunction with Oman Youth Day

Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), represented by Oman Sports and Active Society Committee, organised an open sports day in Sohar, Oman, in conjunction with Omani Youth Day, which falls on 26 October of each year, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Al Batinah North Governorate.

The event targeted all members of society and aimed to spread awareness of the importance of participating in sports and informing them of its positive influence on the health, psychological and emotions.

The event included several sports competitions such as tri-basketball, football, handball, beach volleyball, and badminton. In addition to a fitness programme, a first aid workshop specialising in sports injuries, and a blood donation campaign were also held.

The event was held in the Sports Complex in Sohar, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and in the presence of a number of board members of the Oman Sports and Active Society Committee, club members and athletes. The event witnessed the participation of many young people, who enjoyed the fun exercises and competitions. Many prizes and rewards were distributed to the participants at the gathering.
