2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals set for Pembrokeshire Great Britain

The 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals will take place in Pembrokeshire, Great Britain on 14-16 October 2022 and serve as a direct qualifier for the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023.

The six highest ranked boats at the 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprints Finals will earn one quota place for their NOC in the respective boat class:
• CM1x: top six (6) boats in the CM1x
• CW1x: top six (6) boats in the CW1x
• For the CMix2x: top six (6) boats in the CMix2x

The inaugural event took place in 2019 in China, and the third edition of the event will now be hosted in Wales. The format sees a beach start with participants running to their boats on the water’s edge. They then row out around three buoys, slalom-style, for 250m then row back to the beach. The participant then gets out of their boat and sprints up the beach to the finish line.

There are four senior boat classes; Men’s and Women’s Solos (CM1x, CW1x), the Mixed Double Sculls (CMix2x) and the Mixed Coxed Quadruple Sculls (CMix4x+). The programme will also include five Under 19 boat classes; Men’s and Women’s Solos (CJM1x, CJW1x), Men’s and Women’s Double Sculls (CJM2x, CJW2x) and Mixed Double Sculls (CJMix2x).

The event can be watched live on World Rowing’s YouTube Channel.
