ANOC hosts Social Media Webinar on engaging athletes as Brand Ambassadors

ANOC today hosted its latest Social Media Webinar which saw the New Zealand Olympic Committee deliver a case study on how to engage athletes as Brand Ambassadors.

The webinar was led by NZOC Head of Digital Alex Spence and NZOC Digital and Communications Executive Laura Overton. Spence and Overton focused on how athletes are the strongest and most legitimate influencers available to NOCs when it comes to fan engagement. Athletes can humanise the relationship sports organisations have with their communities and can serve as content creators as well as communication platforms in their own right.

The speakers shared the success the NZOC has had in empowering athletes as well as best practice strategies and learnings. The importance of bringing the athletes on the journey was discussed and how important it is that campaigns are athlete focused and athlete led

More than 65 NOCs joined the engaging and informative webinar which was held as part of ANOC’s Digital Accelerator Programme to assist NOCs enhance their digital presence.
