Namibia National Olympic Committee promotes unity for a tidy community

The Namibia National Olympic Committee hosted clean up campaign to mark World Clean Up Day and promote the message of unity for a tidy community.

Volunteers came together to clean up the Katutura Youth Sports Complex which doubles as a sporting facility and a home for many Katutura Locals. As well as removing litter and waste, the Namibia National Olympic Committee promoted a number of ways to live more sustainably.

The NOC recommended living by the 5 R’s to sustainably manage waste.
1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Recover
5. Residual Management

The NOC also provided information on how to recycle at home, the importance of composting, how to dispose of waste responsibly and how to focus on waste prevention.
