Olympic Committee of Serbia hosts regular General Assembly
The Olympic Committee of Serbia hosted its regular General Assembly in the City Hall in Zrenjanin to discuss a number of key issues.
Held on 14 April, the the Assembly discussed changes to the sports programme for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, admitted the Dance Association of Serbia and the Skateboard Roller Federation of Serbia as members of the NOC, and adopted the financial plan and work plan for 2022.
A large number of guests attended the session of the NOC Assembly including Olympic medal winners Branislav Simić, Momir Rnić and Vladimir Vanja Grbić.
In his introductory address, the NOC President Božidar Maljković used the opportunity to greet all members of the Assembly and thank the Mayor of Zrenjanin Simo Salapura for his hospitality and cooperation, and in preparing the organisation of the annual Assembly of The Olympic Committee of Serbia, but also in organising many sports activities in previous years.
“Dear Mr. Salapura, Zrenjanin has shown and confirmed many times so far that it is a city of sports. You and your associates show how a city can and should love and cultivate sports. That is why we wanted to organise such a gathering in Banat, but also to present to all of you who are here today the importance and values of this environment for sports in our country, we have scheduled today’s session of the Assembly in the town hall in Zrenjanin in the beautiful ambience is, like this whole building, under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments , ” said President Maljković in his introductory speech.
President Maljković especially emphasized the successful cooperation of the Olympic Committee of Serbia with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the highest state institutions throughout the previous Olympic cycle, especially during the Olympic year.
