HEADQUARTERS OF EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPIC FESTIVAL 2023 OFFICIALLY OPEN
The headquarters of the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Maribor 2023 officially opened in the premises of the football stadium of the Slovenian city on 20 January 2022.
Based in the central and most popular sports venue of Maribor, the EYOF offices are modern and well-equipped, enabling efficient work and organisation.
EOC Sports Director Peter Brüll attended the official opening and exchanged valuable information with the staff of the Organising Committee for the preparation of the biggest youth multi-sport event.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Maribor as well as representatives from the NOC Slovenia were among the guests attending the event and the press conference.
Maribor will host the best European young athletes aged 14-18 who will compete in 13 disciplines from 23 to 29 July 2023.
The sports on the programme are: artistic gymnastics, athletics, 3×3 basketball, road cycling, mountain biking, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball, canoe sprint, skateboarding and, for the first time ever at the EYOF, football for girls.
It is not the first time that an EYOF takes place in Slovenia, as Bled hosted in 2003 the winter edition of the event.
