ANOC hosts best-practice social media webinar

ANOC today hosted its first social media webinar, led by Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) Communications and Marketing Director Manoela Penna who presented a case study on social media activation within her NOC.

The purpose of the webinar was to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices to help inform the future development of social media strategies for NOCs, particularly with Tokyo 2020 fast approaching.

The webinar was attended by NOCs from all around the world with more than 100 participants in attendance. Penna began by delivering a presentation on the work of the COB and how they have modernised their communications structures and taken a more aggressive approach to social media, including the creation of the Brazilian Olympic Channel. The change in approach has led to two million followers across social media and 10 new marketing partners. Penna explained the COB’s digital strategy including the sub-strategy for Tokyo 2020.

Following Penna’s presentation there was as an open session with NOCs welcomed to ask questions and share experiences.
