TEAM PORTUGAL OLYMPIC UNIFORMS UNVEILED AT PORTUGAL FASHION

The uniforms for the athletes of the Team Portugal, who will compete at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, were unveiled during Portugal Fashion, a fashion event that promotes the national image, asserting itself as a reference for the creativity and aesthetic sophistication of Portugal abroad.

Several Portuguese athletes were the models at the catwalk, along with some professional models.

Decenio is a Portuguese fashion and lifestyle brand, selected to design and produce the uniforms to be used at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, other formal moments and in informal occasions.

The inspiration was the history that connects Portugal and Japan, through the language, the navigation art and Christ’s cross. These exclusive pieces are mostly navy-blue and white with simple lines but bold details. This collection is made from pure materials, like 100% organic cotton, which combines fashion and comfort.

Joma is a global reference brand for sportive and technical equipment’s and was selected to design and produce the uniforms to be used at podium, training and day-to-day life at the Olympic Village.

The clothes, accessories and shoes were inspired by Portugal and adapted to Tokyo weather. The colors of the national flag are highlighted to enhance the pride of belonging to Team Portugal. Podium outfit is a classic combination of red, green and white with light fabric, Micromesh system and flatlock sewing.
