Second week of Cook Islands Beach Games underway

The second week of the Cook Islands Beach Games got underway on Monday 18 January with the start of the Beach Handball competitions.  The competition will run until Wednesday with 4×4 Beach Volleyball competitions then running from 21-23 January.

Both sports were showcased to a global audience at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games.

The Cook Island Games began on 11 January following an opening ceremony on 10 January when Cook Island Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) President Hugh Graham officially opened the event. The first week saw competitions across beach touch rugby, beach football and 3×3 basketball.

This the third edition of the Games and has seen a record 90 teams take part.

The Closing Ceremony on 23 January will see a Team Cultural Dance Competition
