ANOC Legal Commission member Aldons Vrubļevskis receives IOC Pierre de Coubertin medal

ANOC Legal Commission member and former President of the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOC) Aldons Vrubļevskis was warded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Pierre de Coubertin medal on 29 November.

Ivo Ferriani, IOC Executive Board Member, President of AIOWF and President the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, presented Vrubļevskis with the award on behalf of the IOC President Thomas Bach at an official ceremony in Sigulda Bob and Luge Track in Latvia.

The award was presented in recognition of Vrubļevskis’ contribution to sport which has involved him serving the LOC for 32 years. As well as currently serving on the ANOC Legal Commission he is also Executive Director of Olympians’ Social Fund and a Member of the EOC Audit Committee.

The Pierre de Coubertin medal is a special decoration awarded by the IOC to those athletes, former athletes, sports promoters, sporting officials and others who exemplify the spirit of sportsmanship in Olympic events or through exceptional service to the Olympic movement.
