Eritrea National Olympic Committee celebrate International Women’s Day with series of sports events
The Eritrea National Olympic Committee celebrated International Women’s Day with a series of sport events under the Theme “ Our Horizon full emancipation of women” in Asmara(Eritrea) on 7th March 2020 at the Asmara stadium.
High ranking government official were in attendance, as various sport competitions were held among women students of the capital and among elite athletes of different clubs. Head of the Asmara city bureau of national union of Eritrean Women, Mrs. Alem Belai, pointed out that the national union is working hard with its stakeholders to ensure equal participation of women on the ongoing nation building development programmes.
At the closing ceremony of the event, the winning teams and individual athletes received prizes from the Commissioner of culture and sports H.E Amb. Zemede Tekle and invited guests of honour.
